A proposal dealing with access to police body camera video is heading to the Assembly.
Open records advocates, media members, and a variety of law enforcement groups support the proposal. It’s a compromise that sets rules for public access to the footage.
Police officers wouldn’t be required to wear body cameras, but any video would be available, under the state’s open records law.
The Senate approved the bill today.
