Several concrete street projects in Appleton will cost more than the city had hoped.
Public Works Director Paula Vandehey says for the second straight year, only one company put in a bid for the concrete paving work. Vinton Construction of Manitowoc will get up to $4.8 million dollars.
Vandehey says that’s an eight percent increase from last year. It’s also about $300,000 more than the city put in the budget.
The list of projects includes parts of Prospect Avenue and Carpenter Street.
