The man accused of killing a three-year-old girl and stabbing her pregnant mother in Appleton will undergo a competency exam.
The attorneys for 25-year-old Demetrius Williams asked an Outagamie County judge to order a review of the suspect’s mental health. Judge Greg Gill will determine whether Williams is mentally fit to help with his own defense.
Williams is charged with the murder of Zyana Corbin. He was dating Corbin’s mother.
Prosecutors say he attacked them at their apartment on N. Kensington Drive, on the east side, late last month. They say he was angry, because he thought the woman was going to break up with him.
