Governor Evers is now banning all mass gatherings of 50 or more people in Wisconsin.
The move comes after the CDC recommended organizers of events of that size postpone, or cancel them, for eight weeks. It covers places like theaters, museums, conference rooms, gyms, and churches.
The ban does not include critical infrastructure like grocery stores, food pantries, child care centers, pharmacies, and hospitals.
Evers is also cutting capacities at bars and restaurants in half. Bigger places will have to follow the 50-person rule, no matter their capacity.
Evers says it’s on everyone to practice social distancing and take every step possible to limit the spread of coronavirus.
