Governor Evers has a plan to reopen businesses.
His “Badger Bounce Back” proposal is partially based on President Trump’s guidelines that were released last week.
Right now, Evers says the state doesn’t meet the criteria. He says the state will need to see a decline in flu-like illnesses and coronavirus symptoms over a 14-day period.
Evers is setting a goal of having 85,000 tests per week, or about 12,000 a day. He also wants to have enough contract tracing in place to make sure anyone testing positive is interviewed within a day, and their contacts within 48 hours.
The first phase of reopening would reopen restaurants, K-12 schools, and child care centers. Groups of up to 10 people would also be allowed.
The second phase calls for reopening more non-essential businesses and bars, with social distancing guidelines.
Under the third phase, all businesses could return, and there wouldn’t be any limits on crowd sizes.
