The Appleton man hurt when an off-duty Outagamie County Sheriff’s deputy crashed into his car spent a couple of weeks in a trauma center.
Thirty-one-year-old Mike Nicholson is back at home recovering from a broken hip. He lost the use of his left eye.
The State Patrol is investigating the head-on crash on Highway 441. Nicholson wants to know why the deputy would make a U-turn and go the wrong way.
Nicholson says he’s more focused on what he needs to do, to stay on track to get better.
State troopers don’t believe drugs or alcohol were involved. They’ll decide whether the deputy could face charges.
Nicholson was released from the trauma center a couple of weeks ago.
