Sexist washing instructions

Monday, Mar, 9 2015

Happy Monday.

One of the stories I'll be discussing on the show today is the company that put this label inside its soccer jersey.

The message from them is, "Chill, it's just a recommendation to guys if they want their jersey laundered correctly because women are better at that.

Is that really an apology or just as bad?

Wash Machine Mystery

Friday, Mar, 6 2015

Okay, I give up.
What is it?

Today while working in my home office I threw a couple of area rugs into our old wash machine.

When the cycle was over I opened it up and found this rusty chunk of metal in the machine
with the damp rugs!

Machine seems to still be working fine.

What the heck?

There is a bit of a legend to this old machine that won't die by the way.

I'll tell the full story on the Friday PhilCast show.

"Side" DOES matter!

Thursday, Mar, 5 2015

Take a look.
What do you see?

A comfy bed or a battleground?

Turns out side matters.

I just read through a sleep study that is packed with info about the importance of which side of the bed we sleep on.

I never knew there was so much involved in picking left or right when it comes to getting a good night's sleep with your partner.

We'll discuss in the first hour of the PhilCast on Thursday.

Walk in the park

Wednesday, Mar, 4 2015

One of the stories I'll be talking about on the Wednesday PhilCast is the case of some parents in trouble in Maryland because they allowed their kids to walk home alone from a park.

The kids are 10 and 6 years old.

The park is a mile from their house.

Someone called the cops when they saw the kids walking alone.

You know the rest of the story...there was an investigation and now a 'file' on the parents.

Did they do something wrong?

Should they be in trouble for allowing their kids to walk 12 blocks away from their house where they were playing in a park?

Nanny State?

Not to sound like an old man, BUT, back in my day we walked like this all the time.
And I know times have changed from the 70's, but have they changed THAT much?

I certainly hope not.

Do you see it?

Tuesday, Mar, 3 2015

Do you see it?

Here is the portrait of Bill Clinton that the painter says includes his personal dig, a shadow of the Monica Lewinsky dress.

Supposedly, that's it on the fireplace.

First of all, I would have never seen it.
Second of all, even after learning about this story and looking for it, I don't see it.

Do you?

Maybe the more-important question; Do you see a black and blue dress or a gold and white dress?

We'll discuss as one of the stories on the Tuesday PhilCast.
