A $500,000 grant will go to Lawrence University to train staff on new techniques for teaching students.
Provost and Dean of Faculty Catherine Kodat says they’re targeting entry-level courses. She says that includes their signature Freshman Studies class. She says they’ll try to incorporate more “active learning,” with more student-initiated activities and group discussions.
The federal grant is from the Mellon Foundation.
