In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, a local animal rescue is holding a collection drive for dogs and cats in the Houston area.
Saving Paws Animal Rescue is asking people to donate food, blankets and other items.
Board member Glenda Stadler says they hope to fill a cargo van, and drive to Houston. She says they’re trying to help a rescue that they’ve partnered with for the past four years.
Stadler says they’re collecting items at their shelter, on N. Meade Street in the town of Center. It’s about two miles north of Fox Valley Lutheran high school. She says there is a shed at the back of the building with the logo on it.
People can also donate at Saving Paws website.
Stadler says the money will go toward the van and gas. Anything left over would be donated to Houston K911 Rescue.
