A challenger is already jumping in the race for a seat in Congress in northeast Wisconsin.
A political science professor believes that’s happening earlier than usual.
Democrat Beau Liegeois is a prosecutor in the Brown County district attorney’s office and a captain in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. He’s running against Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher of Green Bay in the eighth district.
The election isn’t until the fall of next year. Professor Arnold Shober teaches at Lawrence University and he says the current political climate could be a factor.
Liegeois is a native of the Green Bay area. He lives in Allouez with his wife and daughter.
