A local expert is weighing in on what happens to the homeless population after storms like Hurricane Irma.
Chris Lashock is with Homeless Connections in downtown Appleton. He says large storms affect more than just the communities in their path.
Lashock says a big issue isn’t just helping those who were already homeless but also people who lost their houses in a storm. He says many places already face housing shortages and these situations don’t help.
He says it’ll put pressure on the community to rebuild to give everyone a safe place to live.
