A jury convicted a former Howard village board member of fondling one of his former students during piano lessons.
Sixty-four-year-old James Widiger was on trial in Brown County this week.
Jurors found him guilty of two counts of the repeated sexual assault of the same child. The girl was 14 when charges were filed in March of last year.
Another former student came forward, accusing Widiger of molesting her when she was 13, in 2003. He was acquitted of a charge of second-degree sexual assault of a child, in connection with her accusations.
Widiger will be sentenced in November.
