One of the investigators in the Steven Avery case is suing Netflix and the filmmakers behind the “Making a Murderer” series.
Andy Colborn claims the series falsely led viewers to the conclusion that Colburn and others planted evidence to frame Avery for the murder of Teresa Halbach. Colburn’s attorney says that made Colburn the subject of worldwide contempt, and severely harmed his reputation.
Colburn is suing for defamation and negligence.
Earlier this year, he retired from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s department.
