Green Bay police are accusing a 32-year-old man of a murder on the city’s east side.
Brion Hatcher is facing a charge of first-degree intentional homicide, and he’s in custody on a $2 million bond. Twenty-nine-year-old Tavarious Edwards was shot in the basement of a home on George Street last month.
Prosecutors believe Hatcher might’ve killed Edwards over $1,000. They heard Edwards could’ve taken the money when Hatcher was passed out drunk, or that Hatcher thought Edwards robbed him or worked with people who did.
Police believe Hatcher went to Milwaukee after the shooting, and they were working with Milwaukee police to try to track him there. They learned last week that he was back in Green Bay, and officers arrested Hatcher.
It was the first murder in Green Bay of 2019, and the first shooting homicide since 2016.
