The founder of Community First Credit Union died on Monday.
Maury Dresang was 90.
He started managing credit unions in the 1950s, and he eventually led the merger of 13 of them into what was called the Appleton Area Credit Union. It later became Community First.
He retired in 1993.
Dresang’s wife, Cathie Tierney, took over as CEO, and she continues in that role.
