Raising the gas tax isn’t a popular idea in the state.
The Marquette Law School poll shows 57 percent don’t want to hike the tax to pay for road projects.
Poll Director Charles Franklin says people’s feelings haven’t changed since at least last year.
Governor Evers included an eight-cent hike in his proposed budget. He also wants to tie annual increases to the consumer price index.
The poll also found 70 percent think the state should accept federal funding to expand Medicaid coverage.
Fifty-seven percent want to increase the minimum wage.
On marijuana, 59 percent think it should be legal. Eighty-three percent support legalizing medical marijuana, with a doctor’s prescription.
