Appleton police are releasing the names of the people involved in Wednesday’s shooting by the downtown transit center.
Officer Paul Christensen was shot, and he was released from a hospital yesterday.
Thirty-year-old Brittany Schowalter was a bystander, and she’s recovering from her injuries at a local hospital.
Police say Christensen and another officer fired at least one shot each, after 47-year-old Ruben Houston of Wausau started walking toward the library with a gun. Houston died at the scene.
Firefighter Mitch Lundgaard and police went to the transit center, on a report that Houston was having a seizure on a bus.
Lundgaard died at a local hospital after he was shot.
