About 95 percent of We Energies customers are expected to have power by the end of the day.
Utility spokesman Brendan Conway is making that prediction. He says 200 extra workers from other companies are helping today, and that will bring the total number of repair staffers to about 1,000.
For Wisconsin Public Service customers, 95% should have their power back on by the end of the day Tuesday.
Appleton was the hardest-hit place in the We Energies coverage area. For Wisconsin Public Service, the most damage was around Green Bay, Waubeno and Stevens Point.
Conway believes crews were overwhelmed on Saturday while working on the cleanup, and making sure they were safe. He says it was hard to get into areas to even assess damage.
Conway says workers that have been on the job for about 20 years believe it’s the worst storm damage they’ve ever seen.
