OSHKOSH, Wis. — An Oshkosh man who set fire to his car in hopes of being deported reaches a plea deal with prosecutors.
Sailou Mballow is convicted in Winnebago County Court on one count of arson.
Mballow set fire to his car back in July. He told police he did it because he was fighting with his wife and wanted to be deported back to his native Gambia.
Mballow faces up to 40 years in prison when sentenced on Jan. 4.
