A sculpture honoring Harry Houdini might be back on display in Appleton.
The city is proposing to place “Metamorphosis” along Lawe Street in the flats next to the future Lawe Street trestle bridge.
Deputy Parks and Recreation Director Tom Flick says most people haven’t seen it for a while. He says it was removed from Houdini Plaza in 2010. He says it’s been in storage waiting to find a new home.
Flick believes the location works well because it across the street from a marker that points out the place where Houdini almost drowned as a child. He says “Metamorphosis” pays tribute to Houdini’s water escape trick.
The city’s public arts committee will talk about the proposal tomorrow morning.
