A proposal to put a sculpture honoring Harry Houdini by a trestle bridge in the Appleton flats is taking a step forward.
The city’s public arts committee approved the plans for “Metamorphosis” this morning. It’s been in storage since it was removed from Houdini Plaza, during renovations in 2010.
The plans call for putting it along Lawe Street next to a railroad trestle that’s expected to be turned into a trail next year.
The parks and recreation committee plans to take up the proposal on Monday, and the city council could vote on it in two weeks.
