The Appleton Historical Society is starting a fundraising drive, after receiving a $100,000 matching grant.
Chair Jim Krueger says they want to upgrade their museum in downtown Appleton. That includes creating an interactive display aimed at younger people. He hopes they can have a program that answers questions about the history of the city.
Krueger says they would use some of the money to help pay the mortgage for their building and maintain it. The museum opened two years ago.
Mary Beth Nienhaus and Jim and Claudine Happel are offering the $100,000 match.
