A Wisconsin State Trooper is talking about how a drone helped find a puppy that went missing after a crash on Highway 57 in Brown County.
Trooper John Jones says the Australian Shepherd was thrown from a car and searchers started looking for the 12-week-old along the busy highway near the UW Green Bay campus.
He says it was dangerous so he got out a drone.
Jones says he spotted paw prints from the air and followed them.
He found the puppy in a hole.
River was missing for eight hours.
Jones believes drone technology is important but can’t be used to look for every missing dog or cat.
He says he used it as a training opportunity.
