The state is granting parole to a man convicted in a brutal assault and murder of a Green Bay woman.
The Department of Corrections says Randolph Whiting will be released around January 21st. Whiting was found guilty of assaulting and killing Margaret Anderson, outside a Green Bay bar, in December of 1983.
Author Mark DuPlaise wrote a book about the murder and the investigation, and he was surprised that Whiting is getting out.
Three other people were also convicted in the sexual assault of Anderson. They’ve all been released from prison.
