Organizers of Mile of Music are thinking about the Nashville area, after the deadly tornadoes.
A lot of artists that come to the festival live in Nashville.
Co-founder Dave Willems is planning a “Mile of Love” benefit at Gibson Music Hall in downtown Appleton on Saturday night. He’s inviting local artists to help raise money for the East Nashville community.
Willems says they’re going to ask artists to play one, two, or three songs throughout the evening, to show their support.
Saturday night’s benefit will run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Willems says some past Mile artists were at a benefit show at the Basement East venue, not long before it was leveled by a tornado. He says Adrian+Meredith live close to one of the hard-hit areas, and they were helping with the cleanup.
Willems was a guest on Focus Fox Valley yesterday.
