The trail system along the Fox River in Appleton now has a name.
The city council is agreeing to call it the Hydroelectric Heritage Trailway.
Ald. Alex Schultz says they need an identity to the system. He thinks there could be naming rights opportunities for smaller segments of the trials, as they’re built.
The first Edison hydroelectric plant was built in Appleton in 1882.
The trailway is expected to cover about eight miles of existing and future trails or connections.
