The Oshkosh school district is trying to recruit more teachers of color.
Human Resources Director Belynda Pinkston says before the pandemic, she traveled to historically black colleges in the south to promote the district. She wanted to let them know they can make a difference not only for their students of color, but for all students.
A recent survey of families of color in the Oshkosh district found it’s a high priority to recruit more minority teachers to achieve equity in education.
