UW-Oshkosh Chancellor Andrew Leavitt is announcing pay cuts for most of his faculty and staff.
In an email to the campus, Leavitt outlined a furlough program that will save the school $3.1 million in the fall semester.
Staff earning more than $60,000 will have two furlough days a month. People making over $33,000 will take one unpaid day a month. Those earning less than that won’t be asked to take any pay cuts.
Leavitt says it shouldn’t affect class schedules. He says some faculty will have to take partial furlough days so they can teach their classes.
He says there may be more cuts in the spring semester. UWO is projecting a 10 percent drop in enrollment for the fall, mainly because of the pandemic.
