Business at the Port of Green Bay bounced back a bit last month.
Director Dean Haen says the nearly 250,000 tons of cargo was well above the totals from July and August. He reports for the year, they’re still about 19 percent below their 2019 numbers.
Haen says it’s common for their numbers to fluctuate, because of the timing of deliveries like road salt. He says construction has been strong, so they’ve had steady deliveries of products like cement.
Haen says 113 ships have visited the port so far this year, and that’s about 15 fewer than last year. The goal is to hit 200 by the end of the season.
