The state Senate’s Higher Education committee has approved several recommendations for improving the financial performance of the U-W System. State Senator Roger Roth is the architect of the report–which calls for further regionalization of the four-year schools in the state. Roth says declining enrollments require major changes. Roth’s recommendations include grouping U-W’s Green Bay, Oshkosh and Stevens Point into one region–with the schools sharing Information Technology and Human Resources departments. He estimates that would result in 15-percent savings.
