A Minnesota man is charged in connection with an alleged robbery at a Kimberly store. Travis Burrell of Brooklyn Park is facing one count of Being Party to Retail Theft. According to the criminal complaint, Burrell put a pile of cash on the counter at Voecks’ Fox Valley Coin and Diamonds on Monday and asked to buy 20-gold coins. He then allegedly grabbed $43,000 worth of coins from the clerk’s hands and ran out. An armed security guard chased Burrell before he got into an SUV. The guard reportedly opened fire when the vehicle drove toward him. Burrell was arrested a short time later in the town of Wolf River. He was with a woman and two children at the time. Burrell faces up to ten years in prison if convicted.
