
FOND DU LAC, Wis–An Appleton man that killed two people and injured two others in a drunk driving crash reaches a plea deal with prosecutors. Samuel Coppersmith is convicted in Fond du Lac County Court on charges of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle, Injury by O-W-I, and Knowingly Operating While Suspended Causing Death.
Coppersmith had marijuana and alcohol in his system when his car crashed along Interstate 41 in the town of Friendship back in July of 2020. Two of the passengers riding with him were killed. Two others were injured, with one left paralyzed.
Coppersmith faces up to 68-years in prison when sentenced on July 6th.
