The Jackson and Oregon Street Bridge in downtown Oshkosh will likely remain closed to traffic for the rest of the summer. The bridge has already been shut down for the past three weeks after a routine inspection found worn gears in the drawbridge operations. D-O-T Engineer Jim McDowell says the gear box has been removed and will be replaced……………..
Audio PlayerThe cost of the repairs is an estimated 120-thousand dollars. McDowell adds that once they learn the source of the gear failures, they will determine if there is a need to replace the gear box on the other side of the bridge.
