APPLETON, Wis–A member of the Outagamie County Board is no longer standing for the Pledge of Allegiance before meetings. Sara MacDonald sat with her hand over her heart during Tuesday night’s meeting.
MacDonald says her decision to remain seated is a protest against the recent Supreme Court ruling that overturned Roe v Wade and made abortion illegal in most cases in Wisconsin. The supervisor believes the ruling denies women equal rights.
