NEENAH, Wis–Fire leaves a Neenah family without a home.
Crews were called to the house in the 800 block of Cecil Street around 8:30 p.m. Monday and found heavy smoke and flames upon arrival.
Shayla Van Stippen, her three children and her fiance were able to escape, and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters say unattended cooking led to a grease fire on the stove.
Van Stippen’s 13-year-old son is preparing for radiation and chemotherapy treatments after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. She has created two online fundraisers: one to help replace items lost in the fire and the other to help with expenses related to her son’s treatments.
