OSHKOSH, WI — The Pyrotechnics Guild International says it’s all in on holding the 2023 convention at Sunnyview Expo Center. On its Facebook page, P-G-I announces this afternoon the convention will be held August 12 through August 18. The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution amending the county general code. The amendment will allow fireworks on county property with the proper permits from local municipalities, sufficient insurance coverage and county executive approval. County Executive Jon Doemel is expected to sign the agreement with P-G-I next week.
Pyrotechnic International has also been considering hosting the convention at Wisconsin International Raceway in the Town of Harrison. The racetrack was the site of P-G-I’s conventions in 2001 and 2010
