OSHKOSH, Wis–Oshkosh Police warn about a scam that has victimized several residents. The scam involves an alert on the intended victim’s computer indicating a problem with the computer or the individual’s financial accounts.
Once the individual calls a phone number provided, the scammer asks them for access to the computer, banking information, or money. Police encourage anyone who receives an alert like this not to respond.
