SHAWANO, Wis–A former Shawano County campground owner is back in custody. Ann Retzlaff had been wanted since January after she failed to appear in court for a pre-trial hearing.
Retzlaff, who owned Annie’s Campground in Gresham, faces multiple charges in connection with a police chase in Shawano and Menominee counties back in May of 2021. The judge has tripled her bond amount to 50-thousand dollars cash.
Retzlaff has claimed that she is a sovereign citizen and therefore is not under the jurisdiction of law enforcement.
