OSHKOSH, Wis–The Oshkosh Area School District will increase property tax collections by 6.2%. The initial budget proposal called for a 12% increase in the levy, which led to some public outcry.
A second plan reduced that to 4%, but then state aid came in $2-million less than expected. School Board member Kristopher Karns is glad the district was able to settle on a number in-between….
The actual mill rate in the Oshkosh School District will decline 32-cents next year to $9.08 per thousand of assessed value. But due to revaluation in the district, property tax bills will still go up.
