UPDATE: The person died after being airlifted to a Milwaukee hospital. They are identified as Jacob Hackl, a sophomore at Xavier High School. The incident remains under investigation.

APPLETON, Wis. — A person is seriously injured after falling off a moving vehicle in Appleton.
Police say the incident took place just after midnight Monday in the 300 block of E. Crossing Meadows Lane.
Investigators will only say that the victim was riding outside of the vehicle and was thrown off.
No other information has been released.
