So, how hot is it going to be? 6-20-25
Welcome to the first day of summer, and the area’s first real heat wave of the season. It may seem trite, but we really need to be careful with this heat.
Heat exhaustion can happen quickly, especially when we assume we’ve kept up on water consumption, but your body says you haven’t. If you start feeling dizzy, take a break, get some water, and find some A/C in a hurry. And rest….
Don’t overdo any outdoor activities. We acclimate to the 70’s and 80’s pretty quickly, but 97 with a heat index of 105…we’re just NOT used to that! The old saying of “it’s not the heat…it’s the humidity” really gets dangerous when you combine them both!
And, be aware while driving as the likelihood of concrete failures increases. This can happen suddenly and can ruin your car or bike, let alone put you at risk, too.
Cooler air and rain is coming by mid-week….Until then, let’s find some A/C!
