OSHKOSH, Wis. — U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy visited EAA AirVenture Tuesday saying he is making improvement of the nations air traffic control system his top priority. Duffy says the recent “Big Beautiful Bill” included billions of dollars for upgrades.
Duffy promises improvements to the nation’s air traffic control system. He says increasing numbers of applicants have been approved for ATC training programs.
Duffy also says upgrades for nation’s air traffic control system include billions in the “Big Beautiful Bill,” but changes will take time.
Duffy adds that the first changes will involve replacing 50-year-old communications and radar systems used in many air traffic control towers across the country before training thousands more controllers.
Duffy, a Wisconsin native, has spent the last two days at the EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh.
