UPDATE: Mr. Frog’s surrendered the license prior to Wednesday night’s Appleton Common Council meeting, preventing the Council from voting on revocation.

APPLETON, Wis. — The Appleton Safety and Licensing Committee recommends revocation of a liquor license for a downtown pub.
That follows numerous complaints against Mr. Frog’s on the Avenue dating back to September of 2024.
Those include disturbances that spilled outside of the tavern, allowing a minor inside and allowing customers to stay beyond the required closing time. Those disturbances resulted in citations and hundreds of demerit points against license holder Vanessa Alvarado.
Assistant city attorney Zach Berwin tells the committee the numbers of incidents and demerit points leave one solution……..
Licensing and Safety Committee members voted unanimously to recommend revocation of Mr. Frog’s on the Avenue’s liquor license. That recommendation now goes before the Appleton Common Council.
