APPLETON, Wis. — A new study recommends the Appleton Police Department add more officers.
Chief Polly Olson says the report from Matrix Consulting Group pushes for more officers on the streets………
The report also calls for APD to add two more traffic safety officers, one more school resource officer, three more investigators and a forensic evidence specialist.
Mayor Jake Woodford says such additions cannot be done at once………
Some of the Matrix recommendations will be added to the police department’s 2026 budget.
