TOWNSHIP OF NEW DENMARK, Wis. — One person is dead — three others are hurt — following a wrong-way crash in Brown County.
The sheriff’s office says an SUV turned onto the ramp from southbound Interstate 43 to State Highway 96 in the township of New Denmark and collided head-on with a minivan shortly after 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.
A 37-year-old Two Rivers man riding in the minivan was taken to the hospital where he died on Saturday. The 68-year-old Two Rivers man driving that vehicle and a 64-year-old Two Rivers woman also riding along were taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The 67-year-old Pound woman operating the SUV suffered minor injuries.
Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
