APPLETON, Wis. — During our February Focus on Health with ThedaCare, we heard from Dr. Ameer Kabour, a Cardiologist and Medical Director of ThedaCare Cardiovascular Care.
Dr. Kabour shares about how best to keep our hearts healthy as we celebrate cardiovascular health this Heart Month.
Some of the things Dr. Kabour reminded us of included the importance of movement and physical activity, nutrition and stress management and sleep.
“To reduce heart disease risk, we recommend focusing on a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein, while limiting saturated fats, trans fats, sodium and added sugars,” shared Dr. Kabour.
The segment put a focus on silent warning signs of heart disease, with indicators including unexplained fatigue, shortness of breath during routine tasks and atypical pain in the jaw, neck or back.
