OSHKOSH, Wis. — A man is dead following an officer-involved shooting at the Fleet Farm in Oshkosh.
Police were called to the store along S. Washburn Street around 8 a.m. Sunday on the report of a man outside with a handgun.
According to a release from the state Department of Justice, the man approached the officer, ignored a command to stop and reached for a pistol inside his waistband. That is when an officer opened fire.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.
The Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation is handling the case.
The names of those involved have not been released.
