APPLETON, Wis. — The city of Appleton is looking to improve the downtown district in an artistic way.
The city is offering more than $12,000 to creative professionals to move to Appleton and launch businesses focused on art, music and film.
The individuals would be eligible to join gener8tor art, a program focused on the business side of creative work.
Managing Director Maureen Ragalie says there is interest in a statewide fund for those kind of businesses………
Ragalie adds that work is underway to expand creative businesses statewide………
Twenty creative professionals will be chosen for the downtown Appleton initiative over the next 18 months.
Money for the financial incentive is coming from a Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation grant.
