MENASHA, Wi. –Severe weather moved through the Fox Valley Monday afternoon, leaving behind significant damage in the area.
A severe thunderstorm, which was then upgraded to a tornado-warned storm by the National Weather Service impacted areas of Appleton, Menasha and Neenah.
Reports of damage include downed trees, power lines and damaged rooftops.

Officials in all three communities are asking residents to avoid traveling in the affected areas unless absolutely necessary.
The City of Appleton says all departments have been fully mobilized in response to the storm. Crews are prioritizing emergency calls and working to restore access to roads wherever possible.
The Neenah Police Department, along with the Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue Department, Neenah Department of Public Works, and public safety partners, are also actively responding to areas impacted by severe weather.
In the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office 911 Communications Center, during a two-hour period, their telecommunicators answered a 911 call approximately every 15 seconds.
Officials say damage assessments are ongoing.
