GREEN BAY, Wis–The Brown County District Attorney’s Office files two misdemeanor charges against Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs stemming from a domestic incident. Jacobs is facing counts of Battery and Criminal Damage to Property.
According to the criminal complaint, Jacobs and his girlfriend were involved in an altercation that turned physical at his home in the village of Hobart in May of this year.
The charges carry up to nine months in jail for a conviction. Jacobs will make his initial appearance on November 17th.
The Green Bay Packers issued a statement following the announcement by the D.A.
It says (quote) “We are aware of the charges brought against Josh Jacobs. We will continue to cooperate with the NFL as we work through the process. We will have no further comment at this time.” (unquote).
And Jacobs’ attorney released a statement as well.
It says (quote) “”The Brown County District Attorney has reviewed evidence and elected to file misdemeanor charges against Josh that do not include domestic violence. The allegations will be addressed in court, and not in the media. Mr. Jacobs respects the District Attorney’s office and the process it followed.” (unquote)
